This course is for anyone interested in obtaining Canadian Firearms Safety Course and/or Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course certification in order to apply for a possession and acquisition firearm licence (PAL).

This basic course includes material on basic firearms handling and safety practices, ammunition safety, safe storage/transportation/display, firearms-related laws and regulations, and social responsibilities.

Student handbooks are optional but recommended.

Duration: 8 hours (CFSC), 4 hours (CRFSC)

Prerequisite: Students taking the CRFSC must also take the CFSC, or have taken it in the previous 12 months.

Minimum Age: Students taking the CRFSC must be at least 18 years of age. No minimum age for CFSC.
